The owners of Parquet Floors are the very definition are true artisans. That’s probably why they’ve remained in business for so long.
I’ve lived in two other homes with hardwood flooring they installed so it was clear I was going to have them replace my living room floor in my newly purchased home. The experience was seamless from start to finish because Parquet Floor’s crew are extremely professional, exhibiting excellence through every step of the work.
But that’s not the reason I’m writing this review.
Lorenzo Johnson and Wesley Johnson CARE DEEPLY for their fellow man. They are generous, kind, compassionate, honest men who go beyond the services rendered. I knew of their reputation as great craftsmen, and now I can say they are great human beings.

I recently bought a new condo in Union City and was given a recommendation by my real estate agent to call Parquet Floor Services. My condo had two different types of hardwood. The main living area stained a darker, cherry color while the bedrooms were very light. I wanted them all a dark espresso color. Wesley came to offer a quote which was very reasonable based on my research into average pricing in the area for the work I wanted done. He was right upfront in letting me know that the woods would take the stain a little differently so while they would be dark…they would look slightly different, but very close in color. His team came on time and finished on schedule. My floors came out exactly as I wanted. Beautiful work. Worth every penny.

If you live in or around Hoboken, you can’t get better than Wesley and his team at Parquet Floor Service. Wesley knows wood–and will give you an honest assessment of the different product lines and types of wood before you begin your project. Having paid for a complete engineered wood floor and installation from Lumber Liquidators that then had to be ripped out, I was nervous about installation the second time around. Wesley is 1) incredibly honest 2) incredibly knowledgeable and was a pleasure to work with. He provided pictures of the new installation as it was occurring and kept me in the loop every step of the way. A local business doesn’t survive this long unless it’s reputable and does quality work–and that’s Parquet Floor Service.

We went from standard yellow, shiny floors to the most beautiful whitish and silky mat finish. We got a few quotes for the work we needed and even though Parquet Floor Service wasn’t the cheapest, we decided to have them do the work and we did not regret that. The crew was very skilled and careful and delivered such beautiful job. We would recommend them anytime.
A word of advice regarding the actual color of the finished floor: Ask for samples made on your existing floor to avoid any misunderstandings of how the finished floor will look like. After moving in we have had family, friends, different work crews in and all of them notice how gorgeous the floors are and compliment them.

Excellent company, good people and great work. Hurricane Irene flooded our apartment 3 weeks before the birth of our child. We hired Parquet to replace the floors but we soon realized the drywall needed to be ripped out too. It was a laborious and messy job – there was insulation underneath our subfloors that was absolutely drenched with water. They got it all done in record time – subfloors, floors, drywall, insulation, painting, etc. – and got us back in before our child was born. Everything looks better than ever. Lorenzo and Wesley, the owners, are great – they’re always available and made sure everything was perfect. I can’t thank them enough for all of their hard work. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Excellent from start to finish! Our brownstone parlour and hallway floors needed repairs and refinishing. Sections of the floor needed to be replace and matched up to the existing floor. They did an excellent job of matching the different types of wood and the finished floor was unbelievably beautiful. These are top of the line craftsman who take care and pride in their work.
